ECAC Power Rankings - Week 1

Rankings compiled by Luke Devoe

Here is the first installment of FTNTTB's ECAC Power Rankings. The rankings will appear each week on the blog. Eight ECAC sportswriters have taken part in the rankings and teams have been rated on a 1-12 point scale. If you are interested in sending in your rankings for future weeks tweet me @QUHockeyBlog by Tuesday of the week of the poll. We will aim to get the rankings posted Wednesday of each week.

First place votes in parenthesis:
1.) Cornell- 90 points (4) Highest/Lowest Ranking 1/3
The Big Red took half of the first place votes and after a 3-0-1 start, a sweep of Colorado College and some superb defensive efforts they're at the top of the rankings.

2.) Union- 87 points (3) Highest/Lowest Ranking 1/4
The Dutch's only downfall this far has to be that UConn tie. They are primed to compete for another title and narrowly missed being at the top of our inaugural rankings.

3.) St. Lawrence- 80 points (1) Highest/Lowest Ranking 1/5
St. Lawrence has been a pleasant surprise early on this season and in the eyes of some of these voters, their performance warrants the top spot. Time will tell with the Saints.

4.) Dartmouth- 72 points Highest/Lowest Ranking 3/5
The Big Green have stormed out of the gate to the tune of a 2-0 league mark and a 3-0-1 record overall. Many foresaw the Green being strong this year and unlike some highly projected teams (ahem) they're living up to the hype.
